Course Description

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and approve Safety Basis (SB) documents for Less than Category 3 (Radiological) facilities. Participants will define the purpose and scope of a Hazards Assessment Document (HAD), describe the regulatory and procedural requirements for HAD development and approval, and explain the criteria used to categorize a facility as Radiological by Analysis. The course supports compliance with DOE safety management guidelines and ensures consistent application of hazard assessment processes in low-hazard nuclear or radiological operations.
