Given regulatory guidelines and workplace procedures, participants will identify and apply proper methods for handling, recycling, and disposing of universal waste—including batteries, lamps, mercury-containing equipment, and pesticides—in order to reduce hazardous waste volume, ease compliance requirements, and support effective collection practices for both businesses and communities.

Course Description

Participants will be able to PROMOTE proper recycling or disposal of certain common hazardous wastes; to REDUCE the volume of hazardous waste items in the municipal solid waste stream; to EASE regulatory burden on business; and to IMPROVE collection opportunities for communities and businesses.
